Dining Sets and Holiday Meal Classics. How to Lounge: Part One
This week, we’re heading into the holiday season with lounging on our mind. Lest you think “What a lazy bunch!” we invite you to our showroom + wood shop to examine our crew hard at work. In fact, Unruh employees work vigorously four days a week. We give all our employees Mondays off to enjoy long weekends for rest, adventure, travel and quality time with family. Come Tuesday, we hit the ground running for the good of our customers.
But like any other hard working American, we usually smell something different in the air toward the beginning of November. As we all know, that smell is the pre-heating of ovens, buttering of breads and carving of turkeys for one of the best weekends all year. Although Thanksgiving is a time for the most fabulous of feasts, we know the two “F’s” the holiday season really celebrates: friendship and family.
When you mix food, friends and family during a holiday for rest, reflection and thanksgiving, one of the best things we can all do is lounge. Yes, please get out on Thanksgiving morning for a walk or Turkey Trot in prep for the day ahead. But this is a holiday! Like our team, you work hard every day and deserve some time to lounge.
Today we’re highlighting a few of our dining room sets and how they will set the stage for family lounging all holiday season long. Why limit those three crucial “F’s” to one weekend? This is the most wonderful time of the year for a reason. And Unruh Furniture will help you ring it in right.
The Sewell House: Brecker Table and Coleson Bench
The word “lounge” often denotes laziness. However, the word’s definition says “to lie or sit in a relaxed way.” Sitting at the dining room table isn’t lazy – when community gathers around the table, you should lounge and stay awhile. And when you see what the Sewell family did with their new dining set, you’ll want to find your own lounging table (which we can help with, of course) to sit at and relax.
Our Brecker Table highlights this space with a clean aesthetic and spacious setting for friends and family to gather. As they make their way to the table, don’t be surprised if they fight over our Coleson Bench. There’s plenty of room at the table with this dining set, and we can plan yours at our first showroom meeting. Nothing will exactly resemble the Sewell space because it’s unique to them, but nothing is better than what makes your house unique to you.
