Our Custom Indoor Furniture Store Story
Unruh Furniture was founded by Sam and Hayley Unruh when they were newlyweds in 2012. Despite Hayley being pregnant, she encouraged Sam to follow his passion and start a custom furniture store. First, he started building furniture in his garage. Then, once demand grew, they purchased a 100-year old church in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri. Since then, we have brought on over 20 employees (one being a dog named Pete). Sam and Hayley now have four kids and a puppy. It’s safe to say, they’re pretty busy!
And, that’s the story of how our custom furniture store came to be. It hasn’t always been easy, and we still don’t have everything figured out, but we are all so happy to be a part of this team! Making customers happy is what we love to do and they keep us motivated in providing quality pieces day after day.

We knew these two would be a big hit for our customers because of their simple design, yet bold wood look. The options are truly endless with these two pieces, which is why our customers adore them so much.

The Lake House Dresser

She chose our sage stain to suit their Baylor University themed space (which is her son’s name!). But, if sage isn’t your thing, don’t worry.
