When you order at www.unruhfurniture.com – whether a bookcase, desk or bed frame – you’ll see five steps in our easy-to-order process. No step is more important than the other. We depend on each part of our proven process to provide the best handcrafted wood furniture for your home or space. Before we dive into the first three steps (while saving the last two for another day), take someone else’s word for it. The reviews below show a different kind of finished product than the furniture itself. Because if our customers are satisfied, it’s the only thing we care more about than high-quality wood furniture.
The Finished Product
“Our beautiful dining set was delivered this afternoon! We are so impressed with the beauty and durability of the pieces! So very happy with our entire experience from the showroom ordering process to the delivery and setup! We will for sure be back for future furniture purchases! Thanks, Unruh crew!” -Maggie Syrokos
“Everyone at Unruh was super friendly and helpful; communication was excellent and the whole process was a breeze. Our table was ready almost two weeks early (yay!) and they even texted when they were on their way to deliver it. It doesn’t get much better than that! We love our table and would recommend Unruh Furniture to anyone in the KC area who wants something local, handmade and special. Thanks for helping make our dining room one of my favorite spaces at home!” -Judith Shuey
Choose the Size
For a bunch of carpenters, we know how to utilize technology. Last year, we initiated an online customization tool so that you and your family can experiment with furniture size and dimensions from home! Now, we talk a lot about or showroom visits which is crucial in getting to know you. But the online customization is a great precursor to that meeting. Try it out today! Pick any piece of furniture from our online store and adjust the length, height and depth sliders according to your home space. This will help you (and us!) get a better idea for your furniture dreams in the home.
Choose the Wood
There are six variations of wood we offer at Unruh: alder, cherry, maple, hickory, white oak and walnut. You can read the descriptions for each within any given product page. But there is more to the story. Depending on the furniture that’s already in your home, we can give our best recommendation as to which option is best for you. You don’t need to be a boy-scout/girl-scout alumnus to know which wood is a smart option, because now you have Unruh on your side. Don’t buy furniture alone! It’s a lot more fun with a team.
Choose the Finish
Without high-quality finishing expertise, wood-furniture will never make the cut. As our company grew, we wanted to offer multiple finish options for the many types of tastes out there. No two people are alike, so why should all furniture look the same? In terms of the numbers of variations . . . we’re pretty sure it’s one of those “^10” numbers from high-school math. But despite all those variations, we promise your Unruh furniture will be one of a kind.
In our next post, we’ll examine the last two steps of the process: pricing and build. Until then, peruse our options and dream about that spot in your home – the spot has been waiting patiently for new, high-quality furniture. (And if you have any more questions about our process, please give us a call or shoot us an email! We’d love to answer any quick questions you have before setting up a showroom appointment or purchasing our furniture).
“We contacted Sam about creating a Farmhouse dining room table for the 1930 Farmhouse we were renovating. I was nervous about the entire process because I had never designed and purchased furniture before. Sam was very kind and helped walk me through the process. When we picked up our table, we were beyond ecstatic with the way it turned out. It truly is beautiful and we receive compliments on it from every single person that comes to our house. We are finishing up remodeling our master bedroom now, and once it’s complete, we will be designing and ordering a bed from Sam.” -Mary Krejci
